We saw where good work loses its way.
As a specialty trade contractor, Steve owned the entire operating loop. He bought shared leads, walked jobs, built estimates, coordinated crews, handled change orders, collected payments, ran payroll, and watched the margin on every project.
The pattern was hard to miss. Homeowners were making expensive decisions from vague scopes and scattered messages. Skilled contractors were paying for introductions, competing against underpriced bids, and stitching the job together across tools that never shared the same record.
Later, financial and tax work gave Steve a view into the books of hundreds of businesses. The same problems appeared there too: lead costs, underpricing, material and labor leakage, slow collections, and revenue that did not reliably become profit.
